Where Community Stories Become Art

About the Project
Pieces of Us is a community art project created by four Erasmus students, doing thier intership with Tinap Green as part of Tinap Green’s global citizenship program with skills in design, gaming, video editing, and passion-driven vision, doing their internship at Tinap Green in Dublin.
Before returning to their home countries, they wanted to leave a piece of their individual passions with Charlemont community. Each brought their unique skills to document and celebrate the neighborhood's story through the community lens. Over five days, they interviewed residents about Charlemont's past, present, and hopes for the future, collecting materials from the streets to create this mixed-media canvas using Dadaism techniques.
The artwork shows the community's journey through residents' eyes - from what it was, to what it is now, to where togetherness and shared vision could take it. This project captures how young Europeans can contribute their individual talents to local communities while learning about transformation, belonging, and the power of collective dreams.

Dadaism
An n early 20th-century art movement that creates meaning by combining everyday objects and materials in unexpected ways.

Our canvas layers old newsletters, papers from the community centre, plastic bags found around Charlemont, image transfers of community photos, and painted textures. This collage approach mirrors how communities are built - from individual pieces and stories that come together to create something larger. The technique lets us preserve authentic materials from the neighborhood while transforming them into art, just like how the community itself has been transformed while keeping its original character.
